Kathy Rene Kaaiohelo

June 10, 1948 — December 21, 2025

Edmond

Kathy Kaaiohelo passed from this life on December 21,2025. She was born at Wesley Hospital in Oklahoma City to Vernon and Rowena Newell. Kathy was raised first in Del City and then Edmond, graduating from Edmond High School in 1966. She met Kenny Kaaiohelo while both were students at Oklahoma Christian College, and they were married on May 3, 1968, at the College Church of Christ, now Memorial Road Church of Christ. Kathy and Kenny were devoted to each other for over 57 years before her passing. Some of her greatest joys occurred while raising her two sons, Jason and Jared. She served as a homeroom mother at Orvis Risner Elementary, supported their youth sports teams (usually coached by Kenny), and eventually became a super Mama Dog for the high school teams. She also enjoyed supporting Kenny's careers as a coach, basketball official, and roofing contractor. The family was active in church, faithfully attending worship services and Bible classes, and by serving in a variety of ministries. Kathy and Kenny were particularly influential in the lives of college students and young adults. Kathy was a mentor to many and a friend to a host of people. Her generous spirit led her to bless others in a variety of ways. She was an encourager and gifted note writer, usually including scripture. She loved cooking meals for others, hosting showers, and entertaining guests in her home. She also enjoyed participating in a variety of clubs and organizations.

Kathy was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her husband Kenny Kaaiohelo of their home in Edmond; son Jason and wife April Kaaiohelo of Edmond; son Jared Kaaiohelo of San Antonio, Tx.; grandchildren Hayden Kaaiohelo of Oklahoma City; Malia and husband JD Martin of Wichita Falls, TX.; Kason Kaaiohelo and fiancé Sarah Reed of Mt.
