Kimberly Jean Duskin Howard

Kimberly Jean Duskin Howard, the second child of Robert Field Duskin and Lucy Finley Duskin, was born September 2, 1979, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and grew up in Edmond, Oklahoma. Kimberly was forty-six years old when she passed suddenly on June 6, 2026, from unknown causes.

She is mourned by her husband Christopher Michael Howard, her family, and the numerous friends who have loved her throughout her life.

Attending Edmond public schools and graduating from Edmond North in 1998, Kimberly knew from her high school freshman year which career path she wanted to pursue, and she accomplished her goals. While a student at Edmond North, she augmented her high school experience with classes at The University of Central Oklahoma, and she also taught dance with Jan Larsen.

Upon high school graduation, Kimberly continued her education at The University of Tulsa where she earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Athletic Training, graduating Cum Laude in 2002. While there, she was a member of Mortar Board and served as vice president of her sorority, Kappa Delta, for one year. Kimberly then studied at San Jose State University, CA, where she earned her master’s degree in Kinesiology. Additionally, Kimberly became a Sports Medicine Fellow with The United States Olympic Committee in Chula Vista, CA.

She earned her second master's degree in Leadership Development at Azusa Pacific University, CA, where she also began her professional career as the men’s and women’s basketball team’s athletic trainer and taught as an adjunct professor. While she was at Azusa Pacific, her women’s team won the NAIA Women’s National Basketball Championship.

After seven years at Azusa University, Kimberly became Assistant Athletic Trainer for the women’s basketball team at The University of Memphis, TN followed by becoming Women’s Assistant Trainer at Oklahoma State University in Stillwater, OK for seven years. Her career then progressed to the position of Injury Prevention Specialist at Amazon in Ft. Worth, TX. While at Amazon, she also worked for Children’s Health Orthopedics and Sports Medicine, which enabled her to continue working with athletes as a certified Athletic Trainer at athletic events.

Kimberly was preceded in death by her grandparents Field and Mary June Freeman Duskin and Jean C. and Marjorie Burlingame Finley.

She is survived by her husband Christopher Michael Howard, Ft. Worth TX; parents Robert Field and Lucy Finley Duskin, Edmond, OK; brothers Michael C. Duskin, Edmond, OK; Jeremy F. Duskin (Nicole Hayes) and nephew Easton Field Duskin, Ft. Worth, TX; niece Christina Nicole Duskin Bolster (Kevin) and grand-nieces Alston Bolster and Aisla Bolster, Corpus Christi, TX; uncle Bill Duskin and his daughter Courtney Nicole Duskin, Reno, NV; and numerous cousins.

From childhood and throughout her life, Kimberly has been loved by the many people she knew and helped.

Kimberly will be remembered and loved forever in the hearts of her family and friends.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, July 11th, 2026 at the Acts 2 United Methodist Church in Edmond, OK.
