Lana H. Fennelly
1930-2020
Lana Fennelly died peacefully on June 29, 2020 at Epworth Villa in Oklahoma City.
She was born in Englewood N.J. on July 11,1930 to Bush Wells and Cecilia Elizabeth Hensley.
Lana had a lifelong love of the arts with a special passion for oil painting, sketching in charcoal, and making copper enameled jewelry. She and a friend had their own company (Fantasy Jewelry) and they would go sell their wares at various art festivals in Oklahoma City, Houston, Larkspur Colorado, Iowa City Iowa and the Renaissance Festival in her hometown of Kansas City, among others. She taught painting classes at the Nelson Gallery of Art in Kansas City.
Later she volunteered to teach art classes at Junior High Schools in Kansas City land even taught a class at Epworth Villa in Oklahoma City. Lana loved to sing and would sing at the drop of a hat. She could play piano by ear and people would gather around at parties and sing to their hearts content. She was known for her quick wit, friendly, outgoing (and occasionally feisty) personality.
Lana is preceded in death by both her parents and her husband John She is survived by her sister Liz (Arizona), sons John and wife Janet ("Johnny" Edmond OK), James ("Jimmy"Joelton TN) and daughter Liz("Boodies" Parker CO), five granddaughters and 5 great-grandchildren.
A private ceremony to remember and honor her life is being planned by the family.
