He went on to get his MBA at the University of Central Oklahoma in Edmond, Oklahoma.  The majority of his career was in the insurance industry in a variety of capacities, including work at Blue Cross & Blue Shield, Delta Dental, and then on his own as an independent agent/broker with Austin Associates, Inc. Early in his career, he was also a member of the United States National Guard. During his time in Oklahoma, he was a member of Metropolitan Baptist Church in Oklahoma City and then later of Faith Bible Church in Edmond, Oklahoma. Larry loved riding motorcycles, fishing, and watching old black-and-white movies.  He is survived by his wife Sharon Austin. They would have celebrated 10 years of marriage this September. He is also survived by his two sons, Jonathan B. Austin and his wife, Erin, and their four children (Jackson, Meredith, Elliot, and Lydia) of Louisville, Kentucky, and Matthew B. Austin and his wife, Mary Kathryn, and their three children (Abigail, John, and William) of Oklahoma City. He is further survived by his step-daughter Sarah Sutton and her husband, Michael, and their two children (Jadence and Jacob) of Duncan, Oklahoma, and his mother-in-law, Zelma Dowdy of Comanche, Oklahoma.  He was preceded in  death by both his parents, and his brother, Gary Austin.  We will celebrate his life on Friday, May 3, at 2:00pm at Matthews Funeral Home, 601 S.
