Leatha Joyce (Treece) Steele

Leatha Steele was the youngest daughter of Ella (Hunter) Treece and Clyde Edward Treece. She is preceded in death by both parents, and by her brothers, Denzel Treece of Edmond, Gordon Treece of Hillham, TN, and by sister, Delores Cooley of Edmond. She is survived by her son, Jerry Steele, of Edmond, daughter, Jeanne Steele, sister, Irma Lee of Edmond, and numerous nieces and nephews that she adored. Leatha was a lifelong member of the Edmond Church of Christ and was a Graduate of Edmond High School in 1954. She worked for Johnson Construction office for 20 years, and was the Financial Secretary for Edmond Memorial High School for 16 years, until her retirement in 2005. She was a generous, kind hearted, child of God, with a gregarious, fun loving spirit. She won blue ribbons at the State Fair for Crocheting, and was very artistic for many years in floral arrangements, stained glass, and ceramics. After retirement, her passion was her yard and flower beds, at her Edmond residence. Always with a smile and joyful laughter, she was loved by all that were lucky enough to know her, and there was never a dull moment for anyone
Funeral Services will be held 10:00am Monday December 29, 2014 at Edmond Church of Christ, 801 South Bryant Edmond, Oklahoma 73034. A formal viewing will be Sunday, Dec. 28 th from 4:00- 6:00 at Mathews Funeral Home in Edmond.
