Linda Lee Cotton of Edmond Ok was born August 19, 1940, in Kansas City Missouri. She passed away in her home on April 9, 2026. She was preceded in death by her mother Nadine Orr, her father Leo Orr, her ex husband Don Cotton and her son David Cotton. She is survived by her son Don Cotton and daughter Chris Dobie. She is also survived by 8 grandchildren Aaron Young, Michael Cotton, Richard Dobie, Casey Dobie, Melissa Nucci, Robert Dobie, Lofton Cotton & Quinton Cotton. And 7 great grandchildren Maddox Young, Loraine Cotton, John Cotton, Phae Cotton, Blake Gillette, Carter Gillette, Charlotte Nucci & Nora Nucci.
Linda attended school in Edmond and graduated from Edmond High School in 1958. She married Don Cotton in 1959 and they had 3 children: Don Cotton, Chris Dobie and David Cotton. She was active in the community playing on a women’s softball team and belonged to a Citizen’s Band radio club with the handle “Sweet Nothin”. While in Edmond she worked at Tinker Air Force Base as a keypunch operator.
The family moved to Tuttle Oklahoma in 1978. They had a small 6-acre farm were they did some gardening and raised rabbits and a calf or two. She was a skilled “Coupon Queen” and could purchase hundreds of dollars of grocery products and receive change back. She worked at Braum’s Dairy milking cows for a few years, then she went to work at the Oklahoma County Election Board. She started as temporary election help and was able to turn this into her permanent job. She retired after 19 years. After retiring she returned to work part time as a weekend Concierge at Copper Lake Estates for 14 years.
Linda attended Central State University & Oklahoma City Community College but did not complete a degree program. Continuing to learn new things was important to her and she continued to learn new things by participating with community and county organizations who provide classes and seminars by groups like Olli, Triad, Natural Grocers, Metropolitan Library System, the Oklahoma County Extension Center. She was a member of several organizations including the Samuel King chapter of the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution, the Edmond Genealogy Society, the Oklahoma Historical Society and Red Hat Honey’s. She volunteered locally at the Edmond Historical Museum and through RSVP.
A graveside service is scheduled at 12:00pm, Saturday, April 18th, 2026, at Gracelawn Cemetery in Edmond, Oklahoma.
