Linda Childs Maxey
1941 – 2023
Linda Childs Maxey passed away June 4, 2023, in Edmond, Oklahoma. She was born to Casey and Kathryn Childs on March 24, 1941, and grew up in Tulsa OK. After losing her mother at a young age Linda was blessed with a stepmother who loved her like her own, Rosie. She attended Tulsa Central High school. Upon graduation she attended Stephens Women's College located in Columbia MO and graduated from University of Oklahoma in 1963. While at OU she was a member of Pi Beta Phi Sorority. Linda was also a member of The Junior League of Oklahoma City.
Some of Linda's most treasured times were spent playing tennis, horseback riding and golfing at Oak Tree Country Club. She also enjoyed bridge and book club, where she made many lifetime friends.
Her love of horses led her to work during live racing seasons at Remington Park for over 20 years.
Her love for her dogs was as strong as that of her children. Linda and Joe had many beloved four-legged friends, including: Kodi, Kashmere, Kayli, Kappy, Komet and Kosmo.
Linda was a lady of class and elegance. She traveled the world and cared deeply for her family.
She is survived her husband Joe W Maxey JR of Edmond, Ok, her 2 children: Katie (James) Vaughn of Edmond, OK, Kent (Stacie) Fellingham of Billings, MT, 5 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren, her sister: Gretchen Kimball of Belvedere, CA and one nephew: Matt Reinecke of Florence, Italy.
She was preceded in death by: Casey Childs, Kathryn Childs, Rosie Childs, and brother Kent Childs.
In lieu of flowers donations be made to a charity of one's choice. Family services will be planned for a future date.
