Lisa Kay Simmons
1961 – 2022
Lisa Kay Simmons, 60, was born October 15, 1961, in Lebanon, Missouri to Lenora Ann (Wilson) Burtin and Bertram E. (Sonny) Burtin. She departed this life and went to her heavenly home on June 25, 2022, with the love of her life holding her hand.
Lisa was married to Ronnie Simmons on September 15, 1985. Together they made a life they loved along with their three children, Taisha, Tristan, and Tessa in Benton, KS. Her number one priority was being a mom. She was also the owner of Folk Tales Floral and Gifts where her talents of being an artist and a seamstress were the highlight of the store.
Life sent her on a new journey in 2006 when Ronnie, Tristan, and Tessa moved to Edmond, Oklahoma. She found a new joy in being a co-owner of their family business, Oklahoma Coring and Cutting. Although Lisa's life was full of trials, losing her youngest daughter Tessa, who was 21, nearly drained the life out of her. Then came life's other treasure, grandkids. Her new name was Nay Nay and she loved every minute of it. She made sure to travel with her grandkids and made each one of them feel like the most special person in the world. Her last trial in life was her battle with cancer which she fought bravely until the end.
Lisa is preceded in death by daughter Tessa Ann Simmons; Father Bertram E. (Sonny) Burtin; Mother Lenora Ann (Wilson) Burtin; brother Kelly Burtin; brother-in-law Bobby Simmons. She is survived and loved by her husband Ronnie Simmons, daughter Taisha (Travis) Tunnell of Benton, KS, son Tristan (Chelsea) Simmons of Edmond, brother Jody Burtin and nephew Connor Burtin of Owasso, grandchildren Ava and Mia Tunnell and Wyatt and Annie Simmons, and numerous other family and friends.
