Lorean Goff
1926-2018
Lorean Virginia (Aldridge) Goff, 92, passed away on June 26, 2018 in Oklahoma City, OK. Lorean was born on March 26, 1926 in Fayettville, AR to Claude Benjamin Aldridge and Myrtle Mandy Mae Dee Atterberry Aldridge. She made several trips with her family to California in a Model T during the Great Depression.
During World War II, she wrote letters to Vinton I. Goff through a pen-pal, Delores Strasbaugh, as he served in the Navy. After the war was over she married Vinton on April 18, 1946 in Fayetteville, AR and they moved to Oklahoma where they had their four children, Susan Delores, Connie Mae, Vinton I. III, and Mark Adam. They raised their four children in Edmond, OK.
Lorean went to nursing school and became an LPN in 1969 at the age of 43. She worked at Edmond Hospital and Murray's Nursing Home during the 1970's. In 1982, she moved to Hawaii for a few years working as a private nurse. In the mid to late 1980's she moved to Bakersfield, CA and served as a private nurse for multi-millionaire Charles P. Lake until she returned to Oklahoma around 1989.
She loved to write letters to friends and relatives, especially to her sister Elsie, and also loved to write poetry, some of which was even published, and she loved studying the Bible. Lorean was a housewife, mother of four, an LPN nurse, grandmother of 7 and great-grandmother of 13.
Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, July 3, 2018 at Summit View Cemetery in Guthrie, OK.
