Lorna Marie (Brus) Fulton

1936 – 2025

Mom was born on Friday, May 15, 1936 in Iowa City, Iowa.  The only daughter of Rudolph "Rudy" and Irene (Schroeder) Brus.  She was born in a hospital and raised on a farm outside of Muscatine, Iowa living through the end of the depression and World War II as a child.    She was a sister to three brothers, Melvin, Ted and Gale.  On Sunday, March 18, 1951, at 8:30 p.m. at Lincoln Boulevard Baptist Church, she accepted the Lord as her savior.  On the morning of Monday, February 24, 2025,  she got to meet her Saviour face to face.

In the summer of 1952, she was gifted a week at Spring Valley Bible Camp.  While there she met the love of her life, the tall and very handsome young, Herb Fulton.  Their romance soon turned to engagement in the winter of 1952.  On Sunday, June 7, 1953 she became his bride.  They traveled the globe during his twenty-year Air Force Career.  They were married 60 years, 1 month and one day, at which point the Lord called Herb to Heaven. Along the way, they added a son and a daughter.

She was a daughter, a sister, a wife, a mom, a babysitter, a nurse's aide, a Red Cross Volunteer, a secretary, a best friend, a great encourager, a quiet teacher, a good cook (Remember she was raised on a farm.), a founding member of the Edmond Citizen Fire Academy Alumni Association, a founding member of North Edmond Bible Church, and the founding sponsor of the Edmond Fire Department egg delivery, every two weeks.  Her family and friends were always her passion.  From the post office workers to the yard mowers, if you were fortunate enough to know her, you were a treasure to her.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Rudy and Irene, the love of her life, Herb, her brother Melvin, sister-in-law Arleen and nephews Mike and Andy.  She is survived by her son, David & wife Jenelle, and daughter Diane & husband Taze, two grandchildren, and 5 great-grandchildren, numerous nieces & nephews and a host of friends.
