Louann French Millard

November 30, 1953 — November 30, 2024

Kathy Louann Hearn was born on February 15,1954 in Perry, Oklahoma to William Don Hearn and Thelma Lee Mathis Hearn. With her parents and 3 siblings, she moved several times throughout her childhood. They moved from Oklahoma, to Vernal, Utah, and to Casper, Wyoming before returning to Oklahoma in 1970.

She married DeWayne French on August 17, 1973, in Edmond, OK. They were active members at the Edmond Church of Christ leading Children's Bible hour, participating in VBS, hosting Life Groups, adopting college students, and being active members of their Bible class. She taught preschool at Sonshine School and Living Word Academy. She and Dewayne had two daughters, and she was always involved in their extracurricular activities from grade school through high school.

She held various secretarial and office administration jobs including, Edmond Church of Christ office, OC Financial office, OC office of Public Relations, OC Alumni Relations, Fleming Food Corporation, Choctaw/Nicoma Park Assistant to Superintendent, and Indian Education Coordinator.

After she retired from the Choctaw/Nicoma Park school district, she could be found working in her garden or mowing the five acres of land she lived on with her second husband, Don. If she wasn't outside, she was spending time with her grandchildren. She loved playing games, doing arts and crafts, science projects, and making slime with them. She would often let the grandkids drive the gator and would have cousin sleepovers for her 15 grandkids. She enjoyed watching them play with the toys she bought from her favorite stores: Family Dollar and Dollar General.

All who knew her, loved her. She brought smiles and kindness wherever she went. She was a devoted wife, dedicated mother, energetic and fun MamaLou, loving sister, and a compassionate, caring friend. She lives in people's memories as always being up for anything fun and was always so sweet and cheerful.

She battled and survived cancer with a positive confident attitude. She tirelessly fought her ALS diagnosis with determination and a smile on her face for 13 months before God called her home.
