Louise Oakes Waldrum of Edmond, OK passed from this world on the morning of Wednesday June 25, 2015.
She was born on May 9, 1922 in Chicago, IL and was raised in Amarillo, TX, lived the majority of her life in the Oklahoma City area. Spending time with her beloved family and friends would always bring a smile to her face. Her one word of advice for them was to "enjoy". "Louise", "Mom", "Mamaw", "Weese"… We will cherish your love and we will miss you.
She is preceded in death by her first husband Hardy Oakes, second husband Elmer Waldrum, sister s Norma Freeman, Lucille Gleason and much loved daughter-in-law Colleen Oakes. She leaves her children, Tommy Oakes of Kingsland, TX, David & Sherry Oakes of Edmond, OK, Dana Oaks of Noel, MO and brother-in-law and life-long friend W.M. Frank Freeman of Arvada, CO. She is also survived by five grandchildren, Teresa Adams of Little Elm, TX, Karen Fair of Liberty Hill, TX, Michael Oakes, Brian Oakes and Steven Oakes, all of Edmond, OK. In addition, three great grandchildren, Justin Adams of Cody, WY, Casie Adams of The Colony, TX, and Riley Fair of Liberty Hill, TX and three great, great grandchildren, Kiersten, Kelcie and Karter Adams of Loveland, Co; as well as many nephews, nieces and extended family. The Family will greet friends from 5-8 p.m. on Tuesday at Matthews Funeral Home and graveside services will be at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday July 1, 2015 at Sunnylane Cemetery, Del City.
