Luanne And Jeff Wible

Luanne Maree Wible and her beloved son Jeffrey Alan Wible both passed away in the second week of March 2024. Luanne and Jeff were inseparable in this life and they have moved on to the next one together. They were 66 and 39, respectively.

Luanne devoted herself to caring for Jeff, but she covered a lot of ground before he arrived. She spent most of her life in Oklahoma, and also had the opportunity to live in Hawaii on two separate occasions as a child. Growing up she studied ballet under Yvonne Chouteau, one of the "Five Moons," a group of Native American prima ballerinas who rose to international acclaim.

Luanne graduated from Putnam City High School in 1975, and went on to receive a public relations degree from Oklahoma State University in 1980. She worked as a reporter for both the Stillwater News Press and the Tulsa Tribune. In 1984, she married Victor Alan Wible. They had two children: Jeff and Megan. After 31 years of marriage, they separated.

Luanne was passionate about music and the ocean, and she passed these joys on to her kids. Jeff and Megan were as close as a brother and sister could be, and they remained so throughout Jeff's days. Megan's husband Chandler had a deep connection with Jeff that spanned nearly two decades.

Jeff's love of life and people were infinite. His cousin Mark was fond of saying that Jeff "had a Ph.D in love," and this couldn't have been more true.

Jeff enjoyed many years of being on the Dolphins Special Olympics swim team and the Cardinals Miracle League baseball team. He also loved to golf, mow the yard (with his non-operational mower), listen to country music and watch Full House, of which he had seen every episode thousands of times. Jeff was as ornery as they come, and loved to joke and laugh with family and friends.

Luanne and Jeff were blessed to have each other and their family and friends, which included a large community of caregivers from Oklahoma Christian University and Memorial Road Church of Christ.

Luanne and Jeff are preceded in death by Luanne's parents, Louis James and Betty Jo Ray, and her sister Duane Saunders. Jeff is also preceded in death by his father, Victor Alan Wible, and Vic's parents, Vernon Whitworth and Bonnie Lucille Wible.

They are survived by Luanne's daughter Megan, son-in-law Chandler and grandson Brecken, as well as Luanne's sister LynnCarol Pannell (Bob) and brother Louie Ray (Heather). Jeff is also survived by his uncle Kent Wible and aunt Karla Wible.

A joint memorial service for Luanne and Jeff Wible will take place on Monday, March 11, at 11 AM at Memorial Road Church of Christ in Edmond. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Special Olympics Oklahoma or Memorial Road Church of Christ on behalf of Luanne and Jeff.
