1936-2016

Lyle Dean Hennessey of Edmond, OK passed on to a better life on June 16, 2016. He was born near Lincoln, NE on March 2, 1936 to Joe & Emma Hennessey. Lyle was the youngest of three sons. As the last surviving member of his family, Lyle joins his parents, and brothers Reginald and Eugene in heaven and is comforted by the thought of sharing eternity with them. He leaves behind his beloved wife Sherrill (Sherry), daughter Kris and her husband Joe Hapgood, son David and his wife Toni, 3 grandchildren; Alyssa and her husband Brian, David Michael Hapgood and Megan Hennessey, all of Edmond, OK.

Lyle had a deep commitment to his family, God and friends. He was a member of the American Legion Post 111, and St. Mary's Catholic Church in Guthrie, OK. He was employed and member of the Nebraska Air National Guard from 1955 to 1963. He married his high school sweetheart, Sherry, on April 12, 1958. In 1963 they moved to Oklahoma City to begin Lyle's Chuck Wagon. He later founded O.K. Restaurant Supply.

In 1989 Lyle was an originating member of Lincoln County Rural Water District # 3. After eight years of diligent work, the water district completed construction and an abundant supply of potable water became available around Wellston and Chandler, OK.

Rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m., Sunday, June 19 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Guthrie, OK. Mass of Christian Burial will be Monday, June 20 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Guthrie.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Mary's Catholic School, 502 W. Warner Ave. Guthrie, OK 73044.
