1967-2024

Margaret Fay (Zellner) Cox, 57, of Edmond, Oklahoma, was a beautiful wife, mother, daughter, sister, and soul. She bravely fought breast cancer in 2007 and won, but unfortunately, the cancer came out of remission in 2015 and again in September 2020, and she sadly lost her battle with the disease on July 27 th , 2024.

Margaret and her twin brother, Marvin Ray, were born to Herman and Doris Zellner on June 19th, 1967, in Durango, Colorado. She spent most of her early life in Tecumseh and Gage, Oklahoma.

Margaret graduated from Gage High School in 1985. She then went on to get a bachelor's degree in Telecommunications from Oklahoma Baptist University in 1989. She then got her master's in Educational/ Instructional Psychology and Technology from The University of Oklahoma in 1996.

In 1990, Margaret met Craig Cox at Village Baptist Church in Oklahoma City, and they later married on June 29 th , 1991. The couple went on to have two girls, Jenny and Allie. Margaret accomplished a lot during her lifetime, but most of all, she loved being a wife and mother.

Margaret was a woman of many talents and highly intelligent. During her career, Margaret was a video producer, instructor/trainer, and technical writer/editor. She had many hobbies, including reading, writing (predominantly poetry), photography, sewing, knitting, crocheting, learning, and athletics. She had a creative mind, a loving heart, and a strong soul.

Margaret went to see her father, Herman Zellner, her twin brother, Marvin Ray Zellner, and her father-in-law, Robert Cox, in heaven. She is survived by her husband, Craig, and daughters, Jenny and Allie; her mother, Doris; her siblings: two sisters, Cynthia and Tamera, and two brothers, Jon and Wayne; mother-in-law, Kaye Cox, and sister-in-law and husband, Cindy and Roger; along with numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.

There will be a viewing on August 4 th at Matthews Funeral Home in Edmond, OK, from 2 pm to 6 pm. The funeral service will be held at Crossings Community Church in Oklahoma City on August 5 th at 1 pm. The following day in Gage, there will be a viewing at 11 am at First Baptist Church, lunch provided by the church at 12 pm, and then the burial to follow at 1 pm on August 6 th .

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to a Breast Cancer Research Association of your choice [American Cancer Society, Breast Cancer Foundation, Breast Cancer Research Foundation, National Breast Cancer Foundation, or Susan G. Komen Foundation] in Margaret's name.
