Mark Edwin Turner
1955 – 2021
Mark E. Turner was born on October 9, 1955 in Lubbock, Texas to Gene and Norma Turner, he passed away on July 19, 2021 at Green-Leaf State Park in Braggs, Oklahoma.
Mark was a beloved father, mischief maker, story teller, and overall extraordinary person. In Rugby circles he was once known as the Benevolent Dog Face Pharoah.
Professionally, Mark spent 35 years ensuring HIV patients were respected and well cared for, in addition to promoting prevention. He worked for the Oklahoma State Department of Health and the North Carolina Department of Health as an epidemiologist.
He is survived by his parents, Gene and Norma Turner, his wife Retha (Gordon) Turner, children, Jessie & Isaac Stine and Sean Turner, Edmond, OK, siblings, Melinda & Mark Barrett, Norman, OK, and David and Pam Turner, New Jersey and one grandchild, Violet Stine.
He was preceded in death by his loyal best friend, Hector-Airedale Terrier.
