Mark was born in Jackson, Michigan, in 1942. He and his older brother, Bob, spent time in different parts of the state throughout their childhood. They loved to go fishing and explore the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. Mark graduated from Jackson High School in 1960.
Mark met his wife, Judy, in banking, and the two were married in 1967. Mark served his country in the Army Reserves and received his Bachelor's Degree in Business Accounting from Michigan University in 1971. He worked as a Michigan CPA and then returned to banking as Vice President and Controller of Pontiac Community National Bank. In 1982, he and his family moved to Edmond, Oklahoma, to further his banking career. Mark was featured in a New York Times article for his cutting-edge views on the bond market.
Mark then spent the second half of his life as a woodworker. He spent countless hours in his shop, as every project he took on had to meet his high standards. He was able to construct many pieces of furniture that are still admired by many today.
Mark also spent a lot of his time volunteering at the Coffee Creek Riding Center in Edmond, OK. He truly enjoyed spending time helping adults as well as children in the riding and rehabilitation program.
Mark loved spending time with his grandchildren. Whether it was a sporting event or school program, Mark made as many of his grandkids' events as possible. But his favorite thing to do was spend time with his grandkids at his house, listening to music or playing games. Mark always asked his grandkids at the end of a visit, "Who loves you, kid?" so they all knew how much he loved them.
Mark is preceded in death by his father, Robert Lee White; his mother, Mary Manthei; her husband, Bill Manthei; his brother, Bob White; and his granddaughters, Marley and Olivia White. He is survived by his wife, Judy; daughter Terri; son Tim and daughter-in-law Kacey; son Kevin and daughter-in-law Audrey; son Kyle and daughter-in-law Stacy; and grandchildren Makayla, Conner, Kincade, Benjamin, Kailey, Asher, Ashlyn, Makenna, and Aspen.
