Marshall Meng Foo
1959-2021
Born in Queens, NY, Sergeant Marshall Meng Foo was raised in Manhattan. After graduating from Brooklyn Tech in 1977, he enlisted in the Marine Corps and graduated at Paris Island later that year. He served 10 years, during which time he married fellow Marine Alice Condray in 1981. Together, they raised their three children, Don, Amber, and Chrystal. He served multiple locations while in the Corps, including a stint in an aircraft carrier. Honorably discharged in 1990 as a disabled veteran, he returned to New York City before moving to Springfield, MO to be with his children.
In 1996, he moved with his children to Edmond, OK where he met his future wife, Chelsea, and two children, Emma, and Chris, on a family blind date that same year. Marshall and Chelsea married April 20, 1997, in Eureka Springs, AK and gave birth to their youngest, Jasmine, the following September.
Marshall valued family above all else, just like his father, and accumulated extended family through his children's friends and volunteer work.
In 2012, he was diagnosed with renal failure. Six years later, in 2018, he finally received his new kidney. After a long and exhausting fight with health issues, he passed away peacefully on October 5, 2021, to be reunited with his dad.
Marshall is preceded in death by his parents, Jackson Meng Hee Foo, Josephine Moy, Rosalind Gonnet, Allen Moy, and beloved daughter, Paula Hensley. He is survived by sisters Nadine McGarry-Smith, Leslie Chin, Brenda Foo-Limb, Regina Migacz, and Rita Nowak, brother Ronald Moy; ex-wife Alice Condray-Foo; wife Chelsea Foo; children Don Foo, Amber and Aaron McMahan, Chrystal and Cristopher Kibbe, Chris Fickess and Kinsey Watts, Emma Foo, and Jasmine Foo; and 7 grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family would like to ask that donations be made to the United Way.
Visitation will be held Friday, October 8, 2021, from 5:00 PM to 7PM at Matthews Funeral Home, Edmond, OK with family present to greet friends and guests.
Services will be held Saturday, October 9 th , 2021, at 10:00 AM at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 1315 E 33 rd St, Edmond, OK 73013.
