Martha R. Johnson
1926 – 2020
Martha R Johnson, 94, went to be with the Lord August 25, 2020. Martha was born in Seward Oklahoma to Millie Delling and Marvin Brandenburg. She is survived by her sister Mary Jo, her sons Larry and Kenneth Johnson and their spouses, Judy and Glenda. She has 7 grandchildren; Jimmy, Cindy, Brian, Christy, Michael, Mark and Adam along with many great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by 7 other brothers and sisters and her daughter Jannette Newland.
Martha was a feisty woman with a lot of spunk. She was very determined and certainly unafraid to speak her mind. She was a very hard worker that kept 2 jobs most of her working life. Martha was a hairdresser by trade with a salon in Edmond and also did some house cleaning to make ends meet when needed. She liked things tidy and neat so both fit her personality. She was very involved in her Church and sang in the Choir until health problems gave rest to her singing voice. She loved her family and loved to travel with her sisters.
She will be laid to rest aside her infant lost to her in 1947. Martha lived 94 wonderful years and will be missed by all who knew her.
A graveside service will be held at Gracelawn Cemetery on August 28, 2020 at 11:00 A.M.
