Martha "Jo" Hardee Johnston

Martha "Jo" Hardee Johnston passed away Sunday, August 3, 2014.  She was born February 6, 1933 in Ira, Texas to Richard and Isla Hardee and was one of seven children.

Jo gave selflessly of herself as church librarian to her long-time church home, First Baptist Edmond, retiring after 37 years.  Jo also retired from the Edmond Public Schools as librarian and Mary Kay Cosmetics as a consultant.

She is survived by her son Richard Wesley Johnston and wife Carla of Ardmore, OK; daughter Jana-Lyn McClain of Edmond, OK; granddaughters Abigail, Adriane, and Catherine Johnston of Ardmore, OK and Aislan McClain of Edmond, OK; grandson Chris Spahos of Ardmore, OK; and great-granddaughters Ruby Johnston and Stella Horner of Ardmore, OK.  She is also survived by brother Dick Hardee and wife Frieda of Mississippi and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Baptist Children's Homes of Oklahoma.
