Marvin Lee Clifton
1944 – 2024
Marvin Lee Clifton, 80, passed peacefully at his home in Edmond, OK on December 2, 2024, suffering the effects of Alzheimer's. He was born in Clinton, OK to Marion and Cora Lee (Youngblood) Clifton. Marvin graduated from Harding High School in OKC with the class of 1962. He received a bachelor's degree from Chico State University in 1974.
Marvin married Wanda Bagwell on October 29, 1965, often saying, "the best thing I ever did". The following year they moved to Santa Rosa, CA, where they lived until 1982, before moving back to Edmond, OK. They had two children, Renee, and John. Marvin retired from Tinker AFB after over 25 years of employment.
Marvin was a "gentle" man and never spoke harshly to or about anyone. He would start a conversation with every person he encountered. He requested graveside services saying, "I was simple in life, so simple in death." The pride and joy of his life were his two children and two grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers, Victor, Kelly, and Gene Clifton.
Loved ones surviving him are Wanda, his wife of 59 years, daughter Renee Mason (Hank) of Edmond, OK, son, John Clifton (Ashlee) of Alexandria, VA, two grandchildren, Kaylee and Tyler Clifton, and one sister Linda Smith of Tulsa, OK.
Marvin was loved and respected by his family, extended family, and friends. He will be dearly missed.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 5, 2024, from 1:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Matthews Funeral Home. Graveside services will be held on Friday, December 6, 2024, beginning at 2:00 p.m. at Gracelawn Cemetery in Edmond, OK.
