Mary Elizabeth Hogle
1933-2018
Mary Elizabeth (Collins) Hogle, beloved wife, mother, grandma, great-grandma, sister and friend, while surrounded by her family in Oklahoma City, OK, gained her wings and went to be with her husband and her heavenly Father on March 17, 2018. Mary was 85 years old.
She was born in Tulsa, OK on January 27, 1933 to Walter Clyde Collins and De lv a Naomi (Clark) Collins. She grew up in Tulsa, OK, and graduated from Central High School in 1951. On September 8, 1951 , she married her high school sweetheart, James Ray (Jim) Hogle, in Tulsa, OK. Through their union, they had two children: James Michael Hogle and Pamela Sue Hogle. They were married 65 years and were separated by death for only one year and one month.
Mary was a long-time resident of Edmond, OK and heavily involved in the community. She was employed at Bank of Oklahoma as a Vice President for 20 years. After her retirement, she and Jim traveled the countryside and enjoyed their golden years together. Mary was a long-time volunteer with the women's auxiliary at Edmond Hospital and a member of First Presbyterian Church in Edmond. She was an avid Oklahoma State football supporter, and she loved collecting anything "hummingbird." Her other favorite activities were card games, gardening and square dancing.
She was greeted in heaven by her soul mate, Jim; son, Mike; parents ; and brother , Clyde Wayne Collins.
Those left to cherish her memory are daughter Pam Davis and her husband, Kenny of Stilwell; grandchildren Amy Nordstrom and husband William of Roy, UT; Beth Taylor and husband Scott of Guthrie, OK; Ray Davis of Stilwell, OK; Billy Davis of Dallas, TX; and Danielle Thompson and husband Jason of Smyrna, TN; and great-grandchildren Whitney Nordstrom, William Nordstrom, Ryan Taylor, Cassidy Nordstrom and Lauren Taylor.
Services will be held at 10:00 am on Thursday, March 22, 2018 at First Presbyterian Church of Edmond, 1001 S. Rankin , Edmond, OK, with interment at Memorial Park Cemetery in Oklahoma City, OK. Services will be under the direction of Matthews Funeral Home of Edmond.
