Mary Ann Walcott

September 17, 1945 – June 1, 2025

Mary Ann Walcott, a devoted Christian, loving wife, dedicated mother, steadfast sister, and faithful friend and servant, passed away peacefully on June 1, 2025, surrounded by those who loved her most. She was 79 years old.

Born on September 17, 1945, in Home Gardens, California, Ann was one of nine children. She maintained a close relationship with her many sisters throughout her life, with weeklong stays in each other's homes filled with sewing projects and lots of Mexican food. Their adventurous spirits had them always planning the next "Sisters Trip."

Ann spent most of her life in Duncan, Oklahoma, where she raised her three beloved children: Michael, Eric, and Beth. While working at Security National Bank in Duncan, her circle of girlfriends grew along with her love for community service. Her life was marked by unwavering faith, tireless service, and a deep love for her family and friends.

Ann worked for over a decade as a secretary at Memorial Road Church of Christ, where she became a cherished member of the church community. One of her greatest joys was serving in Celebrate Recovery, a ministry close to her heart. Her gentle spirit and open heart made her a source of hope and healing to many.

In her later years, as an unmarried senior citizen, Ann answered a unique calling—becoming a foster mother to newborns and infants. With boundless love and care, she welcomed many vulnerable children into her home, providing a safe and nurturing place as they awaited their forever families. Her legacy of compassion lives on in the lives she touched.

Later in life, Ann found love again and married Gary Walcott in a beach ceremony on Kauai. Together, they enjoyed traveling, spending time with their grandchildren, and continuing to serve in the church. Gary's devotion to Ann as dementia slowly took over her mind is a testament to love's enduring power. Their marriage was a sweet gift and one of God's biggest blessings to her in her later years.

She spent her life pointing others to her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and would want to be remembered for that alone. Her life was a reflection of Christ's love—quiet, steady, and full of grace. She will be dearly missed.

Ann is survived by her husband, Gary Walcott of Edmond, OK; her children, Michael and Angela Alexander of Clinton, AR, and Elizabeth and Robert Mallett of Arcadia, OK; and her grandchildren: Grant, Clark and Brooke Mallett of Edmond; Zachary, John Will, and Katie Grace Alexander of Clinton, AR; Henry Alexander of Phoenixville, PA; stepchildren Gary and Deann Walcott of Garland, TX; Brady and Jamie Walcott and their children Abbie and Brody of Garland, TX.

She is predeceased in death by her son, Eric Dean Alexander.

A memorial service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 7, 2025 at Matthews Funeral Home, 601 S. Kelly Ave., Edmond, OK 73003.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Mountain State Children's Home in Longmont, CO honoring Ann's lifelong commitment to the care and wellbeing of children by mailing a check to 14780 N 107th Longmont, CO 80504 or clicking here .
