Melvin Eugene, 86, passed away peacefully Thursday, September 11, 2025 from several health issues.

Melvin was born October 30, 1938 in Edmond, Oklahoma to Harold Parsons and Oma Mae Roberts. He attended Edmond Public schools growing up and married Delores Marie Oakes on September 3, 1961.

During his lifetime Melvin had several professions including being an Officer with the Edmond Police Department and later discovered his love of building in the construction industry. Melvin loved watching football, especially OU. He also had a love for NASCAR racing and recently found a love for trains, building a layout complete with tunnels.

Melvin was proceeded in death by his wife of 52 years Delores who passed in 2013, his father and mother Harold and Oma, his sisters Betty McBeth and Mae Woodall, and his brother, Vernon Parsons.

Melvin is survived by his sons Michael Parsons and wife Tracey, Jeffrey Parsons and wife Stacey, his daughter Marilyn Littlecharley and husband Terry, six grandchildren: Halie Warden, Tyler Parsons, Kristal Cantwell, Amber Graham, Gary Hughey, Jr., and Joey Hughey as well as ten great grandchildren.

The family wishes to thank Bellevue Health and Rehab facility in Oklahoma City, OK for all the care and comfort they provided. 

Graveside funeral services will be held Wednesday, September 17, 2025 at Gracelawn Cemetery in Edmond.
