Michael Lynn Huff

November 23rd, 1945-October 31, 2014

On October 31st 2014, at the age of 68yrs, Mike found "That One Particular  Harbor, Sheltered From The Wind". He died peacefully with his Wife, Connie and Son, Chad by his side. Mike was born in Cherokee, Okla and reared on the farm homesteaded by his Grandfather South of Jet. This farm will remain in the Huff family for at least the next two generations. He spent his school years in Ks, and in 1963 while in Attica he met and fell in love with Connie Heacock. They were married in 1965 and their beloved son Chad was born in Attica in 1966. Early in their marriage they moved to Okla, and have remained in Edmond. Mike's happiest years were spent as 'Captain' on board his beloved houseboats on Lake Eufaula. His final command was aboard The 'WAYTOOMUCH'. The stories of his quick wit and antics will live on and be handed down thru countless memories and tales recounted by his friends and family. Mike, by all standards, was a simple man. He loathed large groups and the pomp and circumstance often involved with such. He requested cremation and no formal service. Mike was honest almost to a fault. If you asked him his opinion you better stand back and be ready for the truth. Mike will always be remembered as fair minded and those that had the pleasure to work for him knew him as 'hands on' and ready to do more than his share of any task. He spent most of his career in the business of manufacturing, specializing in purchasing and material control. Always devoted, dedicated and conscientious to his work ethic. The last 10 years of his professional life were spent again 'hands on', this time as a manager at Lowes. Never a job too large or small, he worked circles around younger guys, unloading freight and stocking shelves. The customers loved him because he knew how to do most anything and was always their 'go to' person for advice. To his son Chad, he bestowed a legacy of truth, honesty , integrity, and a work ethic beyond compare. To his pride & joy Grandson, Dalton Michael, he leaves the happy memories of sword & water balloon fights, plus countless hours of working math problems together. Grandpa could figure out anything. In 2011 Mike realized his dream of owning an Airstream travel trailer. Although his poor health kept them from traveling the U.S., he and Connie were able to stay in it about three months a year in an RV park in Fl., near their Grandson. Picking him up after school, going to ball games, and enjoying Grand-parenting activities. Mike was preceded in death by his Father, W.P. Huff, Mother, Mary Evelyn, and Brother, William Dennis. Mike leaves behind his wife Connie, Son Chad (Lisa) and Dalton of Boynton Beach, FL as well as his sister, Barbara Lou Jett of Jet, Ok. All of whom will help ease their own sorrow by reliving the precious memories and stories they will cherish until their own dying day. In memory of Mike, the family asks that donations be made to the Lymphoma/Leukemia Society, to help find a cure for the MDS/AML that took his life. Throughout these last six weeks Mike has been kept alive thru the blood and platelet donations of countless strangers. To these generous people with O-Neg blood we are forever grateful. Please give blood & register to be a bone marrow donor, so that others may have a chance to live.
