M.L. Cline

December 2, 1946 — August 2, 2025

M.L. was born in Edmond, Oklahoma and lived within a 20 mile circle until his death at 78.

He was proud of his family's history in the area and never got tired of telling how his family had been part of the "Run of 89."  he would often try to convince a visitor that there was a 100-year-old fence around the property.

Deer Creek schools was his home from first grade until senior graduation. He then attended UCO for a year.

ML worked as a meter reader for ONG before he found his calling in the oilfield. He could tell stories about jumping fences to avoid dogs. He was a sales/delivery person for multiple oilfield supply companies until 1982. When the oil field went into a slump, the transfer was made to manual machining. His math skills and eye for detail were put to use until his retirement in 2008.

At all times through all jobs, and other life situations, the one thing that stayed consistent was his love for his horses. He was never without at least one horse. There was even an attempt at racehorses, although that didn't work. There was always a roping horse in the barn even when competing in other equine activities.

He is survived by his wife of 38 years, P. Jane Cline; sister, Julia Wolfe and husband, Charles Wolfe; brother, Marvin Cline and wife, Carol Cline; step-daughters, Lynda Hayes and Laynie Murphy and families; daughter, Shelley Garcia and family; multiple cousins, nieces, nephews and their families.

Services will be held Tuesday, August 5, 2025 beginning at 3:00 p.m. at Lockridge Cemetery, Edmond, Oklahoma.
