Nancy Mary Boothe Blankinship, Edmond OK, passed quietly in her sleep on May 5, 2026, at the age of 89. Born January 3, 1937, to A. Wayne and Margarete (Williams) Boothe, Nancy was recognized as the first 1937 baby born at the Stillwater Hospital, a distinction that marked the beginning of a life filled with service, creativity, and lasting friendships.
She joins in eternal rest her high school sweetheart and husband of 67 years T.J. Blankinship, her parents, and her brother, James E. Boothe.
Nancy never met a stranger and was the first to volunteer for family, friends, and community. She loved square dancing with the Woodward Wranglers and was often found travelling with T.J. to another dance. Other hobbies included sewing (she made all of their dance outfits), playing piano for church, attending various club meetings, and quiet moments of reading.
Throughout her life, Nancy gave generously of her time and talents to her community; a member of the Methodist Church and Methodist Women, a dedicated 50-year member of the PEO Sisterhood, and many years as a 4-H community and projects leader.
After raising her children, she built a professional career serving as city clerk in Englewood KS, Deputy County Assessor of Clark County KS, and bookkeeper at the Ashland Cooperative Exchange in Ashland KS. She later worked for the Santa Fe Railway from Waynoka OK before joining 1st State Bank of Waynoka, where she remained until her retirement. After 35years in Waynoka, OK she moved to Stillwater where she lived with her son Mark and then her daughter in Edmond, OK.
Nancy leaves behind: her son Thomas Wayne Blankinship of Nebraska; daughter Barbara Zepp (Jim) of Edmond OK; son Mark Blankinship (Mandee) of Orlando OK. She was a proud and devoted “Granny B” to Alicia Blankinship and Jacob Blankinship, April Medina(Jamie), Keith Zepp and Zachary Zepp(Kaylee), Brittany and Lane Blankinship; 2 great granddaughters Jordyn Medina and Mariella Zepp and 2 great grandsons Zekiel Zepp and Bennett Blankinship; Her devoted sister Linda Baker(Alvin) and many more nieces and nephews.
Above all, Nancy will be remembered for the love she shared so freely and her unwavering dedication to family and community.
A family memorial will be held at the family ranch, and her ashes will be sprinkled into the pond to be reunited with ashes of her sweetheart.
