Naomia Burd
1934-2017
Josie "Naomia" Burd, 83 of Edmond, OK passed peacefully on January 22, 2017. She was born on January 1, 1934 in Oklahoma City to Harrison Warren Burd and Mabel Martha (Ladd) Burd. She graduated from Crooked Oak High School in 1952.
Naomia worked at the First National Bank for 26 years and finished her long professional career with the oil industry. She was a member of a Women's Sorority Club that was dedicated to community service for various charitable causes and she lived at 105 SW 99 th in Oklahoma City for over 40 years. She was an avid sports fan of an OU football, but nothing compared to her love for Thunder basketball.
She is preceded in death by her siblings; Willis Evelyn "Vera" (Burd) Logan, Vivan Crystal (Burd) Brown, Vergil Warren Burd, Ruby Ora (Burd), Loyal Edward Burd, Wayne Clifford Burd, Clyde Elmer Burd, and Mary "Christine" Burd.
She is survived by her countless nieces, great nieces and nephews, great-great nieces and nephews, and great-great-great nieces and nephews.
A public viewing will be held on Tuesday, January 24 th from 1:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and Wednesday, January 25 th from 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 25 th at Sunny Lane Cemetery in Del City, OK.
