Nicholas (Nick) Brad Kirkland of Edmond, OK, age 17, went to his Lord and Savior on Oct. 19, 2015 in Flower Mound, TX. Nick was born on January 27, 1998 to Jennifer and David Kirkland in Houston, TX.
Nick is survived by his mother Jennifer and step-father Les McKaughan of Edmond, OK; his father David Kirkland of Flower Mound, TX; grandparents Phyllis and Tracy Venable of Yukon, OK, grandmother Margaritte Lamp of Flower Mound, TX; his brothers Brendan Boland, David Kirkland, Jr.; his sisters Lauren Kirkland, Rachel Kirkland and Grace Kirkland. Nick is also survived by a large extended family of aunts, uncles and cousins. He is preceded in death by his grandfathers Michael Baimbridge and Stanley Kirkland and his sister Ashley Kirkland.
Nick attended elementary school in Katy, TX and high school in Flower Mound, TX and Edmond Memorial. Nick was an avid reader, writer and loved music. He attended Harvest Church in Edmond, OK.
He had recently turned his life over to serving the Lord and spent all of his time witnessing to others and sharing his testimony. He longed to be in communion with his Lord and Savior and had a deep affection for all of God's children.
A Graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Monday, October 26, 2015 at Gracelawn Cemetery with a Memorial Service following at 2:00 p.m. at St. Mary's Episcopal Church, Edmond, OK.
Services are under the Direction of Matthews Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Edmond, OK.
