O. Raymond Fields

1936-2019

Ray Fields was born on March 28, 1936 in Ninnekah, OK to Ora and Beatrice(Malone)Fields. He departed this life and went to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on September 29, 2019.

Ray was raised in Chickasha, OK and graduated from Chickasha High School. He was soon after drafted into the military and served 6 years in the US Army. Shortly after his discharge from the Army, he met the love of his life, Margaret Irene Hutchinson. They got married on August 14, 1964. Upon Margie's departure from this life, in 2011, they had shared a wonderful 46 years together. During that time, they traveled and lived in many places, as he worked on a seismograph crew for an oilfield company. They eventually settled down in Oklahoma City and he went to work for Tinker Air Force Base as an aircraft mechanic. Upon retirement from Tinker, Ray and Margie spent their time traveling and camping. Ray was a very kind hearted man who loved to spend time camping out, fishing, listening to music, visiting with friends and family, and playing whatever games the grandkids conned him into playing. Whether it was a relaxing game of horseshoes or a more competitive match of volleyball, you could bet, he was going to be out there in the middle of it. He was truly a kid at heart.

Ray is preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Lola Fae, and his dear wife, Margie.

He is survived by:  his son, Tom Fields and wife, Debbie, of Casper, WY; daughter, Denise Fields, of the home; 2 sisters, Viola Pritchard and husband Gordon, of Jackson, TN; Ruby Stewart of Chickasha, OK; 3 granddaughters; Kristy Theimer and husband, Trigg, of Edmond, OK; Lynne Miller and husband, Robert, of Cheyenne, WY; and Maegan Newcomb, of Longview, WA; 2 grandsons; Monte Kaul and wife, Erica, of Edmond, OK; and Dallas Fields and wife, Angelique, of Lapalisse, France; 5 great grandchildren; dear friend, Mary, and many other relatives and friends.
