Patricia Ann (Sorrells) Whitman
March 11, 1933 – February 22, 2018
Born in New Smyrna Beach, Florida to Herman Henry Sorrells and Rosalie (Young) Sorrells. After graduation from high school, Patricia and her two best friends enrolled at St. Luke's nursing school in Jacksonville, Florida. After her graduation she worked in a doctor's office. A short time later she met Richard Whitman on a blind date. Richard was in the navy stationed at Jacksonville Naval Air Station in Jacksonville, Florida. Sometime later they were married in New Smyrna Beach and moved to Stillwater, Oklahoma where Richard was enrolled on the G.I. bill at Oklahoma A & M. They lived in Cleveland, Ohio, Kansas City, Missouri, before moving to Harrah, Oklahoma.
She was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her husband, daughter in law Heather, grandson Dylan, other survivors include sister in law Sue Sloan, niece Margaret Young, nephew Andrew Sloan, two great nieces and two great nephews.
Celebration of life services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Friday, March 2, 2018 at Harrah United Methodist Church in Harrah, OK with interment to follow at Memorial Park Cemetery Oklahoma City, OK.
