Paul Duane Smith
1934-2013
Paul Duane Smith born August 2, 1934 of Oklahoma City (but spent most of his life in Edmond) went to be with his parents Emzy Raymond and Cynthia Jewel Smith and siblings Betty Collier, Raymond Smith Jr., William Smith and Norma Cole on March 19, 2013.
Paul is survived by his wife Lois; children Cindy Powell and husband Tom, Gail Vance and husband Jeff, Debbie Smith and Paula Crowder and husband Mike; five grandchildren Brian, Julie and Greg Glenn and Tony and Victoria Powell; three great grandchildren Dylan, Shelbee and Carter Glenn; first wife Barbara Belcher and many cherished nieces, nephews, friends and associates.
Paul graduated from Central High School and served in the Army Reserve for eight years and became a registered professional land surveyor. Although he worked as a surveyor he dedicated his life to family, music and various youth groups. He was an accomplished musician who played the trumpet in various polka bands at Czech Hall in Yukon, OK for 55 years. He was an avid fisherman and also enjoyed taking time to play golf and visit the various casinos. Paul had a passion for life and a monumental sense of humor.
To those closest to him, time seemed too short but he lived a full, happy life filled with music and love.
Services for Paul will be held at 1:00 pm on Saturday, March 23

at Matthews Funeral Home Chapel with interment to take place at 3:30 pm at Resthaven Cemetery in Oklahoma City.
