Philip H. Gottschalk, Jr. of Edmond, OK passed away peacefully on April 29, 2022, in Edmond, Oklahoma. Phil was born on November 23, 1936, in Hays, Kansas to Philip H., Sr. and Lidwina (Werth) Gottschalk. Phil was a devout Catholic, loving husband and devoted father. He had enormous compassion for his four grandchildren. Phil worked for the Mid-Continent Group in claims for many years, serving as President and Vice President. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus. He loved gardening, fishing, hunting and was an avid University of Oklahoma Sooners sports fan. In his younger years Phil loved participating in the summer wheat harvest, helping his brothers and rekindling his youth as a young boy in Ellis County, Kansas. One of his favorite activities was pheasant hunting in Jennings, Kansas. Phil and Bernadette would have been married for 60 years on May 14, 2022. He is survived by his wife Bernadette, sons, Philip Gottschalk, III, David Gottschalk and wife Ann, daughter Shelly and husband Sam Harris, grandchildren, Brian and wife Stephanie Harris, Melissa Harris, Cristina and Grace Gottschalk, great granddaughter, Haley Harris. In lieu of flowers the family would like for a donation for daily mass in his name at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Edmond, Oklahoma or to the Alzheimer's Society.

Mass of Christian burial will be held on Tuesday, May 3, 2022, at St. John The Baptist Catholic Church, Rosary will begin at 10:00 a.m. Funeral Mass at 10:30 a.m. Inurnment will be held at Gracelawn Cemetery at 2:00 p.m.
