Phyllis J. Scifers
January 23, 1936 – November 14, 2014
Phyllis Jean (Bedwell) Scifers passed through the veil of this life and entered into the presence of the Lord on Friday, 11-14-14. Her roles while on this earth included daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt, great aunt and friend. She played each with the same enthusiasm and love. She is preceded in death by her mother and father, Thelma (Decker) and Wayne Bedwell as well as her husband John H. Scifers. She is survived by her sister Janet, brother Mike, daughter Cindy, son Jeff and their spouses, grandchildren Steven, Jonathan, Meagan, Katie, Jillian and their spouses, great grandchildren Avery and Ethan, nephew Michael, nieces Juli, Joyce, Jody, and their spouses and children. She is also survived by many who knew her as friend.
Phyllis was active in a variety of churches during her life and worked tirelessly in numerous roles of leadership and servitude. She has always been there for her family and friends and loved them with her own brand of affection. Her professional life included a number of administrative assistant and clerical roles in the insurance industry. Her attention to detail and finishing a job well distinguished her on many an occasion. She enjoyed DIY projects around the house until her health limited her activities and was gifted in the art of ceramics.
As we enter into this holiday season, which was a particularly favorite time of the year for Phyllis, let us celebrate the life that was hers and the impact she has had on us all.
Services are 11:00 a.m. Tuesday November 18, 2014 at Matthews Funeral Home Chapel with private interment to follow.
