Phyllis Mae Tomas-Henry
October 24, 1926 – March 26, 2021
Phyllis Mae Henry passed from her earthly home into her eternal, heavenly home on March 26, 2021. She was born on October 24, 1926, in Erie, Pennsylvania, the youngest daughter of Philip and Ethel (Mead) Thomas. Her family, which included her sister, Bette, moved to Siloam Springs, Arkansas, where she met her future husband, Bill Henry. They were married on November 10, 1946, and began a life together that would span 53 years. Most of their married life was spent as the "Mr. and Mrs. Preacher" team, pastoring several churches in Oklahoma and Arizona. Phyllis loved singing in the choir and teaching preschoolers while serving these churches. She loved her family dearly and spent much of her time being a homemaker and mom to their six children. She and Bill moved to Arizona in 1980. She loved the desert landscape with its many unusual cacti and desert plants as well as the beautiful rocks and mountains. She deeply loved each member of her family. She is survived by her six children: Luellen and husband Drake, Robert, Nancy, Susan and husband John, Mark and wife Alicia, Marianne and husband Jerry; her eleven grandchildren: Amy, Tony, Gisela and husband Jim, Megan and husband Don, Josh, Zachary, Alyson and husband Valerio, Campbell, Erin and husband Mike, Phil and wife Jenny, Ian and wife Claire; her eight great-grandchildren: Alyssa, Bill, Bob, Kaya, Christopher, Prisca, Olivia, and Amberle and three great-great grandchildren: Violet, Samson, and Tazden. She will be greatly missed as Mom, Grandma, and Great-Grandma/Nana, but we are all thankful for the assurance that we will see her again one day. Most of all she loved her Savior, Jesus Christ, and spent her life seeking His purpose in each place she lived. She was an encourager, had a servant's heart, and was known for her kindness and hospitality to all. She was a faithful servant to her Lord, Jesus Christ.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, June 5, 2021 at Faith Bible Church in Edmond, OK.
