Ralph James Abrams, Jr.

1942-2014

Ralph (or "Jimmy" as his close friends called him sometimes) was born in Oklahoma City on January 4, 1942. His parents were Ralph Sr. and Willa Mae Abrams. His memorial service will be held on Wednesday, February 19, 2014 at 10:00 am at the First Presbyterian Church in Edmond, OK. Visitation will be available on Tuesday, February 18, 2014, at the Mathews Funeral Service in Edmond, OK.

He met the love of his life, Sharon Jeanette Davis, at Old Classen High School, in Oklahoma City. They were married in 1958 at the First Presbyterian Church in Wichita Falls, TX. Their two children, Theresa Ann Abrams (Schuesssler) and Brenda Lee Abrams (Hall), were raised in Oklahoma City. Ralph's favorite occupation was custom design and installation of jet aircraft interiors. Ralph and Sharon have resided in Edmond, Oklahoma for many years.

Ralph was a born again Christian in the 1970s and has shared his faith in Jesus Christ with others since. Most recently, he has enjoyed worshiping his Heavenly Father and Savior Jesus Christ at the First Presbyterian Church in Edmond, OK.

Ralph enjoyed many creative talents that the Lord had blessed him with. He enjoyed playing many musical instruments and was an accomplished self-taught musician, who played everything by ear. His favorite genre of music was Blue Grass. His family enjoyed listening to him play his banjo and telling jokes. Ralph used many of his talents, including his music and humor, to lift the spirits of others. When he retired, he often was donating his time and talents for charitable causes. One of his most recent favorite was volunteering at the Infant Crisis Center.

Ralph was preceded in death by his father Ralph Abrams Sr. and his brother, David Abrams. Ralph's family was very important to him. He could always be called upon to help his mother, wife, children and grand children with anything they needed. He is survived by his mother, Willa Mae Wilson; his wife, Sharon Abrams; his daughter, Theresa Schuessler and her husband Andy Schuessler and their children Christine Ford, Robin Stephens and Leann Foust; his other daughter Brenda Hall and her husband John Hall and their four children Emily Hall, Brooke Brittain, Garrett Hall and Hannah Hall; and 6 great grandchildren.
