Randy Kenneth Goodpasture
1958 – 2019
Randy Goodpasture, a life long pigeon trainer and resident of Edmond, Oklahoma, died unexpectedly on February 19, 2019 at the age of 60. Randy leaves to cherish his memory, his wife, Lisa Goodpasture, mother, Wilma Goodpasture, brother, Gary Goodpasture, three children, Tiffeney Goodpasture, Amy Bailey, and Tammy Potter, 6 grandchildren, Amberly Curtis, Britt Bailey, Beckham Bailey, Addie Potter, Brady Bailey, and his great grandchild, Oakleigh Nance. He is preceded by his sister, Sharon Kettner, and father, Kenneth Goodpasture. Randy was born in Edmond on July 9, 1958 to Kenneth and Wilma Goodpasture. On March 10, 1978, he married the love of his life and high school sweetheart, Lisa. Lisa was his best friend, and soul mate. She could do no wrong, and he loved her to no end. Randy graduated from Edmond Memorial High School, where he immediately went to work as a foreman for Macklanburg Duncan, and later Hope Lumber. He went on to be a lineman for the City of Edmond Electric. Finally, Randy landed his dream job in the world of pigeons. He managed the only Pigeon Museum in the United States. He ended his career as a world renown pigeon trainer and animal enthusiast. He was know for his expert eye for world class pigeons and had followers across the country. He ran a successful auction site for pigeons. Randy was crazy about his family, proud of each and every one for their special gifts and talents. He was passionate about animals, with more than 200+ pigeons, 5 dogs, 2 cats, a rooster and likely some additional animals in the barn the family hadn't yet met. He was working towards breeding his newest Labradors. Music was a significant part of his daily routine. He played the guitar and sang beautifully. He was a talented writer, often sneaking in the occasional poem or song he wrote for his special ones. His pigeon friends and neighbors were his family, he loved them all.
Memorial Services will be held at Matthews Funeral Home in Edmond at 11:00 am, Saturday, February 23, 2019.
