Raymond "Duane" Tutor
1935-2023
Raymond Duane Tutor went to be with his Lord and Savior on December 4, 2023. He has joined his loving wife of 61 years, Judy, with a radiant smile.
Duane (as he was mostly known in his community) was born April 27, 1935 in Oklahoma City, OK. He is survived by his two sons and their families in addition to many cousins, nieces, and nephews. Larry and Mary Tutor of San Antonio, TX. Bryan and Paulette Tutor of Fort Worth, TX. Four grandchildren Adam and Amanda of San Antonio. Alexandra and Logan of Fort Worth.
Duane was a pillar of the central Oklahoma community and a 50 plus year member of Edmond's First Baptist Church. His leadership within the Church cannot be measured.
Duane kept the community informed and united his neighborhood. He was always the first to lend a helping hand and was selfless of his time. He could be counted on by many – especially his "coffee guys" that he was with every morning at 9 a.m. (except Sunday when he was at church).
He had many passions. It was undisputed (from his Grandad Talk journal) that his grandkids and boating, "anyone wanna go for a boat ride?" were at the top of his list.
Christ was the center of it all and it that was clear when he would say "it's a God thing." He was also quick to say "I'm Happy That I Am Happy!"
In lieu of flowers donations can be made in his name to the Boys Ranch, https://www.obhc.org/get-involved/ways-to-give/ , as well as HOPE Pregnancy Center, 1033 N. Bryant, Edmond, OK 73034 – 405-330-0200.
Duane's service will be held on Saturday December 9, 2023 at 10:00 a.m. at Edmond's First Baptist Church. Visitation will be held Friday December 8, 2023 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Matthews Funeral Home in Edmond, OK.
