Rebecca Louise "Becky" Archibald

1964 – 2023

We are deeply saddened to announce that Rebecca Ahlefeld Archibald, affectionately known as Becky, passed away peacefully in her sleep on August 1, 2023. She was 59 years old. Born February 27, 1964, to Helen Louise and Marvin August Ahlefeld, Becky is one of three children. She grew up in Bethany, Oklahoma and graduated from Putnam City West and later Texas A&M.

While Becky relished being a wife, a mother and a doting Mada, she was also a seasoned and passionate adventurer. Becky traveled across the United States and the World. She broadened her horizon by exploring far-flung lands such as Saudi Arabia, Germany, Mexico, Turks and Caicos, Egypt and many more alongside her companions. The next trip was usually being planned before the current one was complete.

Becky was a gifted educator. She began her career at Mayfield Middle School in Putnam City before moving to Edmond to teach at Central Middle School and Santa Fe High School. Expanding her impact on students across the district, Becky became the Math Curriculum Specialist for Edmond Public Schools. Many of her colleagues became close friends with whom she traveled and shared their lives. Energetic , capable and always ready to lend a hand, Becky was greatly regarded for her dedication to public education and won several well-deserved honors for her work.

At the Oklahoma City Boat Club on Lake Hefner , Becky was a committed member who helped with many of the club's activities, from officiating races to planning parties. She and David, her loving husband, enjoyed sailing at sunset many times during the summer months.

Becky is survived by her loving son, Adam Winters and wife Kelsey; her husband, soulmate and fellow voyager, David Archibald, and his children Chad Archibald, Katelyn and husband Nick Gentry; along with Becky's beloved grandchildren Fitz, Amber, and Ryder. Also, Her Brothers Mike Ahlefeld and Von Ahlefeld.
