Reverend Bobby G. "Bob" Walker
1946 – 2023
Rev. Bob Gene Walker, Age 76, of Edmond, Oklahoma departed from this life on June 13 th , 2023, at his home in the company of his beautiful and caring wife Billie L. Walker. Bob was born on July 2 nd , 1946, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, the oldest of three children to Geneva and Otis Walker. He graduated from John Marshall High School in 1964 and married his high school sweetheart Sue Ann Walker on December 7 th , 1963. Throughout their marriage they had two children, Mark Wayne, 54, and Cindy Zonelle, 57.
Bob worked several jobs to support his family before he answered the call to be a minister. Bob was a minister for the Oklahoma Assemblies of God for 49 years. He first became a pastor in Guthrie, OK where he diligently served for over 20 years. He later became a pastor at Victory Inner-City Church where he ministered for several years. He finally moved to Edmond, OK in 2000 where he joined the Spring Creek Assembly of God staff as the Pastoral Care Pastor, where he has been for the last 23 years. After 49 years of marriage in 2012 Sue lost her battle to illness, however, Bob continued to follow the passions of his heart, ministry and business. Bob was a phenomenal businessman and had a way with numbers. He had a knack for seeing the good in things including potential rental properties. In 2013 he married the second love of his life, Billie, they just celebrated their 10 th anniversary on June 1 st . One thing Bob loved was being a "Papa", he was so, so blessed by his grandchildren.
Bob was a pillar of this community for the last 40 years. He was the embodiment of what it meant to be the hands and feet of Christ. He took time to care for people each day and never made you feel unimportant, Bob was one of a kind.
Bob will lovingly be remembered by his wife, Billie Walker, and his children Mark Walker and Cindy Walker. Bob will also be fondly remembered by his seven grandchildren, Josh (28), Nathan (24), Jon (21), Gracie (21), Ridge (16), Jett (16), Fallon (15), and his sister Sandra Estes. Bob was preceded in death by his late first wife Sue Walker, his brother Jim Walker, and his parents Geneva and Otis Walker.
The celebration of Bob Walker's extraordinary life will be held June 17 th , 2023, at 2:00 p.m. at Spring Creek Assembly in Edmond, OK. Please join us in rejoicing his reunion with Christ.
