Richard Leslie Baim passed away on October 2, 2025. Rich was born in Liberty, New York on March 3, 1949, to Elwood and Doris Baim. He was one of four children, older brother Dennis and sisters Nancy and Virginia.
Rich graduated from Jeffersonville High School, then received his B.S. in Biology from SUNY New Paltz in New York. He moved to Edmond in 1976 where he taught middle school as he worked on his master’s degree from UCO. It was there that he met the love of his life Cynthia who he married in 1980. Rich was a great dad and always there for his daughter Cindy and stepchildren Amy and Darin. Throughout his life, Rich was very proud of all three of his children and would never hesitate to tell others about their accomplishments. He always enjoyed “anything with wheels” - cars and motorcycles and especially the great outdoors with his biking. Rich was an avid photographer and videographer, enjoying this hobby immensely while traveling all over the world.
Many memories were made in these travels with Cynthia, his sisters, his card group, and going to see his daughter and grandson in Colorado. For many years Rich loved watching all of his grandkids at their various sporting events. The majority of Rich’s business career, over 27 years, was spent as an Instructional Media Specialist at Francis Tuttle Vo-Tech. He extended this gift of creating videos for his family, church and many friends. Rich was a faithful member of Peace Lutheran Church since 1980 and just this past year completed a three-year study of the Bible with his Anchor Group. His kind and quiet ways, sprinkled by his witty sense of humor will be missed by all.
Rich is survived by his wife Cynthia and his children Cindy Baim of CO, Darin Zanovich & wife Lindsey of Houston, and Amy Pruitt & husband Jeff of Edmond; Sisters Virginia Baim of Dallas and Nancy Kester & husband Jim of Buffalo; His beloved grandchildren Zoe & Brody Zanovich, Jacy, Hudson, & Jett Pruitt and Aidan Prentice of CO. He is also survived by several sisters/brothers’ in-laws and nephews and nieces.
