Robert "Bob" Louis Beene, Jr.
1958-2020
Robert "Bob" Louis Beene, Jr. passed away unexpectedly on August 5 th , 2020 at the age of 62. A life-long resident of Oklahoma, he was born in Oklahoma City on March 3 rd , 1958 to Susie W. (Davis) Beene and Robert L. Beene, Sr. He graduated from Carl Albert High School in 1976 and attended college classes at Rose State College. He started his career at General Motors and retired after 30 years. He spent the remainder of his career working at Air Compressor Supply, Inc., eventually becoming Service Manager. He married Frances Renee (Coit) Beene on May 22 nd , 1982. They have lived in Edmond, OK for the last 29 years. He was a devoted and loving husband and father who enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was a great storyteller and was never short on jokes. He was known for his witty remarks and sarcasm. Bob loved talking to people and you would often find him outside for hours chatting with his neighbors. In his later years he enjoyed playing golf with brother in-law Randy Coit, cousin David Shepherd and Lynn Shepherd. He loved spending time with his grandsons Wyatt and Gabriel; they were "Papa's Boys" and the light of his life. His latest project was fixing up an old motorized 4×4 truck for Wyatt to ride around in and always making sure it was charged every time he came over.
He is survived by his wife, Frances Renee (Coit) Beene, of 38 years; his daughter Jennifer (Beene) Walker, husband Brian Walker, and grandson Gabriel Walker of Oklahoma City, OK; his son Jared Beene, wife Heather Steinmetz, and grandson Wyatt Beene of Edmond, OK; his mother Susie (Davis) Beene of Moore, OK; his brother James Beene, nephew Michael Beene, and niece Amanda (Beene) Book and family of Moore, OK; his brother-in-law Roger Coit of Custer City, OK; and his brother-in-law Randy Coit, wife Kathy (Stoneking) Coit and family of Arcadia, OK.
He is preceded in death by his father Robert L. Beene, Sr.; father-in-law Lyle Coit; and mother-in-law Marilyn Coit.
Visitation will be held Sunday August 9, 2020 from 1:00 until 8:00 p.m. with family greeting friends from 4:00 until 6:00 p.m.
Services will be held at Mathews Funeral Home in Edmond, OK on August 10 th , 2020 at 2pm with graveside services to follow.
