Robert Otis Martin, Jr.
1962 – 2022
Robert Otis Martin, Jr departed this world to relocate to his heavenly home in the evening of September 16th, 2022 at the age of 60 years old.
Bob, or Pops as he was known by his grandchildren, excelled in functional sciences and engineering. After attaining a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from Mississippi State University, he went on to gain a Professional Engineering license and received credit on multiple patents for his work.
What was most evident from his work was his dedication to providing for his family. Bob was a loving husband and father, constantly supporting his family even while putting himself through college. Despite being devoted to advancement and mastery in his chosen profession, his first priority was family. A loving and devoted husband of 41 years, he found great joy in spending time traveling, going out on dates with and regularly pestering his lovely wife, Wanda. As a father, he deeply loved his children and supported their endeavors, from academics and sports to Boy Scouts and could often be found serving as a Scout master or coach. He enjoyed sharing his love of knowledge and mechanics in quality time with his kids and grandkids, whether it was out in the garage working on cars or in the floor building with Legos.
Bob is survived by: his devoted wife Wanda; son Josh Martin and his wife Emily of Oklahoma City, OK; daughter Brooke (Martin) Elliott, her husband Stephen and their children Allison and Andrew of Edmond, OK; mother Judy Martin of Brookhaven, MS; sister Robin Case and her husband Dwain of Wesson, MS; sister Becky Bowman and her husband Tony of Brookhaven, MS; brother Reggie Martin and his wife Sheila of Brookhaven, MS; mother-in-law Shirley Cupit and brother-in-law Clay Cupit, both of Brookhaven, MS; brother-in-law Mark Brown and sister-in-law Angie (Cupit) Brown of Traveler's Rest, SC; and multiple nieces, nephews, loved ones and friends.
