Robert Eaman Memmott

July 28, 1933 — December 25, 2025

Edmond

Robert “Bob” Eaman Memmott was born on July 28, 1933, and passed away peacefully on December 25, 2025.

Bob was preceded in death by his daughter, Deborah Memmott; his wife of 40 years, Emily Memmott; and his son, Robert Memmott. He is survived by his wife, Sara Memmott; his daughter and son-in-law, Suzy and Blake Gibson; his daughter-in-law, Tandi Memmott; his grandchildren, Ryan, Audrey, and Nathan Memmott, and Jake and Nick Gibson; and his great-granddaughter, Blakeleigh Gibson.

Bob served in the United States Navy for five years. Following his honorable discharge, he married Emily and went on to complete his degree at The Ohio University. He built a successful career as a geologist in the oil industry, a profession that took his family on many adventures across the country—from Cleveland, Ohio, to Dallas, Texas, before eventually settling in Oklahoma. Bob was never one to sit still, and even in retirement he remained actively engaged in the world around him.

A man of many talents and passions, Bob was a master gardener trained through the Oklahoma State University Extension and devoted countless hours to volunteer service. He volunteered at Coffee Creek Riding Stables, where he supported children with disabilities through therapeutic riding programs. Bob also served as a docent at the Oklahoma City Zoo, educating guests about animals and conservation, helping visitors connect with wildlife.

In addition to his volunteer work, Bob was a self-trained stained-glass artist. Many of his beautiful pieces are proudly displayed in the home he shared with his wife Sara of sixteen years and in the homes of his children. Bob was deeply proud of his Canadian roots and was an active member of the United Empire Loyalists’ Association.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Oklahoma Humane Society, OK Humane Angel Fund.

Services will be held on January 31 at 1:30 p.m. at Trinity Episcopal Church with a reception to immediately follow at the Gibson’s house
