Robert Thomas O'Bar

Bob O'Bar, age 82, passed away peacefully on June 11, 2026, in Edmond, Oklahoma.

Born on November 14,1943 in Tulsa, Oklahoma, Bob lived a life marked by generosity, piercing humor and kindness. He touched the lives of many through his unwavering love for family, his friendships, and his commitment to those around him.

Bob was a devoted father, grandfather, brother, and friend. He found joy in his career as Supervisor of Labor Relations for General Motors Corporation for 35 years, as well as in his daughter Erika and granddaughter Skyler. Those who knew him will remember his sharp sense of humor, generosity, thoughtfulness, and dependability.

More than anything, he loved his family. His guidance, love, and presence shaped the lives of those fortunate enough to know him. Though our hearts are heavy with grief, we are grateful for the memories he gave us and the love he shared.

He is survived by daughter Erika O'Bar, granddaughter Skyler, grandson Brigham; nieces Francessca and Barbara Jane; and co-parent Donna Hurst. He was preceded in death by his wife Neva Marie Murdock, Father, Paul Murphy O'Bar, Mother Frannie O'Bar, Brother Connie O'Bar, and nieces Connie Alice and Pam.

The family asks that those who knew him honor his memory by sharing stories, extending kindness to others, and cherishing time with loved ones.

He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.

A memorial service will be held at 10:00am, Thursday, June 25th, 2026 at Matthews Funeral Home Chapel in Edmond, Oklahoma.

A graveside service will be help at 2:00pm, Thursday, June 25th, 2026 at Memorial Park Cemetery in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
