Our beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend heard Jesus whisper in his ear, "Come home and rest, I've prepared a place for you, just as I promised." He passed away peacefully, leaving behind a legacy of profound Christian faith, unwavering integrity, and a spirited sense of humor.
Growing up in Altus, he was a true '50s icon who embraced the rhythm of the original rock & roll era. He loved listening to Wolfman Jack broadcast from Del Rio, Texas, and was always ready to join in the fun, whether it was dancing to the latest music or playing a good-natured practical joke. His competitive spirit shone brightly in everything he did, and he had a remarkable ability to keep track of cards and dominoes, often knowing what you held in your hand before you did.
After graduating from the University of Central Oklahoma in 1967, he began his career at APCO Oil Company the same year.He started his distinguished banking career at The First National Bank and Trust Company of Oklahoma City in 1974 and retired from Arvest Bank in 2011.
Beyond his career, he was a man defined by his staunch loyalty and unquestionable honesty. His life was a testament to his deep faith, which guided him in every action and relationship. He poured his wit, wisdom, and boundless energy into various ministries of service, from making meals to preparing greeting cards.
A funeral service will be held to celebrate his life and faith on September 26, 2025 beginning 10:00 a.m. at St Mark Lutheran Church, 1501 N Bryant Ave, Edmond, OK 73034 with Interment to follow at Gracelawn Cemetery, 1407 North Blvd, Edmond, OK 73034.
