Ronald Keith Owen
1948-2020
Ron Owen, age 72 of Guthrie, OK died peacefully on Feb. 12, 2020. Ron was born on Feb. 3, 1948 to Frank and Mary Lou Owen in Austin, Texas and they preceded him in death.
Ron is survived by his loving wife Anita (Plummer) Owen who he married on December 22, 2014. He is also survived by two devoted sons, Keith (wife Erin and children Addison and Brynn) of Spring, TX; and Todd (wife Jill and children Ashlynn and Jayden) of Canton, TX; and sister Stephanie Jacob (husband Paul) of Grand Prairie, TX.
Ron was an alumni member of the University of Texas. He grew up attending the Lutheran Church and in 2013 attended First Christian Church. Ron served 6 years in the U.S. Army Reserve. He worked as a manager for IBM for 35 years.
Ron enjoyed his dog, Scooter, and was a passionate animal lover. He also enjoyed classic cars, spending time with family and friends, his Men's Coffee Group, and watching sports. Ron loved rooting for the Texas Rangers and the Dallas Cowboys. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to First Christian Church of Guthrie or the Guthrie Animal Shelter.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, Feb. 15, 2020 at 1:00 pm at the First Christian Church, Guthrie, OK.
