Ronnie John Marek, Sr.
1950 – 2025
Ron Marek, 74, passed away in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, and is in the loving arms of the Lord.
He was born in Yuma, Arizona in 1950 to Edmund A. Marek, Sr, and Alice (Waken) Marek. Ron graduated from Enid Memorial High School in 1968, then attended pharmacy school at Southwestern Oklahoma State University. He worked as a pharmacist before joining the inaugural medical school class at Oklahoma State University College of Osteopathic Medicine.
Following an internship in Phoenix, Arizona, Ron practiced family medicine in Enid, Oklahoma and Wichita, Kansas. Throughout his life, he was committed to providing compassionate care to his patients.
Ron loved to travel, and he loved to spend time with his children and grandchildren. He frequently took long driving trips, and they were often used as an opportunity to visit more than one of his children.
Ron is survived by his brother, Ed; his sister, Val; four children: Jennifer, Ron John, Tony, and Katie; their spouses; and four grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father, Edmund; his mother, Alice; and his sister, Sharon.
A memorial service will be held at the Abbey Mausoleum at Rose Hill Burial Park on Tuesday, April 15, 2025, at 10:00 AM.
