Rosemary Ann Watson

Rosemary Ann Yeager Watson, beloved mother, grandmother, sister, colleague, and friend, passed away peacefully on June 7, 2026, at the age of 81. She was born on April 19, 1945, to Andrew and Hazel Yeager, both of whom preceded her in death. She was married to Simon Wayne Watson on October 25, 1969.

Rosemary dedicated her life to caring for others through her profession as a registered and licensed dietitian. Following her graduation from St. John’s High School in Beloit, Kansas, in 1963, she attended Marymount College in Salina, Kansas, where she earned her Bachelor of Science degree from 1963 to 1967. She then completed her Dietetic Internship at the University of Oklahoma Medical Center from 1967 to 1968.

Shortly thereafter, Rosemary began a distinguished career at the University of Oklahoma Medical Center and Children’s Hospital of Oklahoma. She served as a Registered Dietitian and Licensed Dietitian with the Pediatric Pulmonary and Cystic Fibrosis Center, where she devoted countless years to improving the lives of children and their families. In recognition of her professional contributions, she received a faculty appointment with the University of Oklahoma School of Medicine in 1970.

Throughout her career, Rosemary was deeply involved in her profession. She was a member of the American Dietetic Association, the Oklahoma Dietetic Association, and the Oklahoma City Dietetic Association. Within the Oklahoma City Dietetic Association, she served as Vice President from 1969 to 1970 and later as President. Her dedication and leadership were widely respected by her colleagues. In 1970, she was honored as one of the Outstanding Young Women of America.

Beyond her professional accomplishments, Rosemary had a special place in her heart for children living with cystic fibrosis. She faithfully volunteered each year at Cystic Fibrosis Children’s Camp, providing encouragement, compassion, and support to countless young people and their families.

Rosemary was preceded in death by her parents, Andrew and Hazel Yeager; her husband, S. Wayne Watson; and her son, Jason Andrew Watson.

She is survived by her grandson, John Wayne Watson, and her sister, Martha Jane McLaughlin of Middleton, New Hampshire, along with many extended family members, friends, colleagues, and former patients whose lives were enriched by her kindness and dedication.

Rosemary will be remembered for her unwavering commitment to helping others, her professional excellence, her compassionate spirit, and the lasting impact she made on the lives of those she served. Her legacy of care, service, and love will continue to inspire all who knew her.

A catholic burial will be held on Thursday, June 11th at 10:00 a.m. at Gracelawn Cemetery, Edmond, OK under the direction of Matthews Funeral Home.
