Samantha Marie Holmes was born on March 16, 1982 in Fort Sill, Oklahoma to Harry (Butch) Holmes and Susan Bert Holmes. Samantha passed away on May 2, 2019. She graduated from MacArthur Highschool in Lawton, Oklahoma.
She is survived by her father Harry (Butch) Holmes of Edmond, OK; mother Susan Bert Holmes of Oklahoma City, OK; brother David Morris and wife Gaylon of Tuttle, OK; sisters, Michelle Holmes of Apache, OK, and Jessica Goingkeen and husband Arthur of Edmond, OK; Nephews, Joshua Holmes and wife Jordan of Austin, TX, Aaron Holmes and partner Olivia of Oklahoma City, OK, Kederick Holmes of Noble, OK, Jonathan Morris of Spokane, WA; nieces, Alexandria Morris of Norman, OK, Euriah Morris of Moore, OK, Vaylah Goingkeen of Edmond, OK; aunts, Shana Morris and Tasha Hanes, of Noble, OK, and other many loved aunts, uncles, cousins, and great nephews.
Samantha is preceded in death by maternal great grandparents Carl and Jeanette Tofpi, grandparents Ramona Belle Tofpi Bert and Edward Bert Sr., Aunt Mary Bert; Paternal grandmother Betty Jean Huddleston, grandfather Harry Holmes, Aunt Lynn Holmes; and her beloved pet and companion, Sadie Mae.
Samantha was a member of the Kiowa Tribe. Samantha was a retail associate for Walmart Stores Inc. since February 2002. She excelled in customer service for the cellular wireless department and the photo lab. Samantha had a huge love for photography. She made friends easily and was loved by her work family. Samantha loved animals; especially her sweet dog Sadie Mae and cats Minnie Meow, Gary, and Paige. Samantha was born with Turner Syndrome and defied many odds and potential setbacks, living an extraordinary and full life up to her death. She enjoyed photography, nature, music, Mexican food, The Walking Dead, human rights, Led Zepplin, Lady Gaga, and her family. She was kind, generous, big-hearted, stubborn, and learned early on to stand up for herself. She will be missed dearly but will live on in our hearts forever. Rest easy Sweet Butterfly and fly high with the angels.
A visitation will be held at Matthews Funeral Home on Sunday, May 5 th from 3:00 – 8:00 p.m. Services will be held at Matthews Funeral Home Chapel on Monday, May 6 th at 2:00 p.m.
